This is the internet home of Harfin * which has been publishing books since 2001.

The business was established to publish the works of the proprietor. Poetrographs, the first book to be published, was a blend of photographic art and poetry. Subsequent works include other items of creative writing including the first short stories and the first poetry collection by another author. 2006 saw the first non fiction work published - a genealogical study of the descendants of a German Crimean War mercenary and the daughter of an Essex baker.

The focus of much of our activity since the conception of the Harfin venture, has been the author’s concern for basic human values and rights allied with a strong sense of environmental concern for our planet and all that live in it. This is evidenced not only in the written word, but also visual imagery, sometimes referred to as “green art”.  Harfin publishes such works with an environmental or moral dimension in the form of electronic paintings, or e-paintings, created from our own photographs. Like many others, Harfin is very concerned with the damage that man has caused (and is still causing!) to our planet. Much has been said and written by others about climate change, depleted fish stocks, whaling, deforestation, loss of species, poverty, famine, ethnic cleansing, carbon footprint, use of non-renewable resources.  There are many who believe that it is solely the responsibility of Governments and national and international bodies to change. We at Harfin believe in demonstrating that we live by what we say. To demonstrate this we will be donating one quarter of the value of all gross sales from this site to organisations that are striving to effect practical change in those fields that we hold dear such as Climate Change, Poverty, Conservation of Wild Life and the Natural World, Community Values etc.
