As I said at the start, I am concerned about many things in, on and around our planet and what we have done - and are still doing to it.
Our views and thoughts are based on a set of principles that I have enshrined in my ethos This is not some static code, it will continue to evolve over time.
Having an ethos is one thing, but it’s not much use if we don’t tailor our actions to the principles and morals that we espouse.
I do try to live by those principles and strive through this website, my writing and art to encourage others to do likewise.
I urge you to make one change today that will benefit the planet and the people and life that are on it. One thing, though, unlike the phrase “it won’t make one jot of difference”, your action is crucial. We would like you, today, to change at least one JOT. Do you know what a “JOT” is? It is usually taken to mean “the least bit” (from iota the smallest letter in the Greek alphabet), but my JOT is just a little bit differen.
It’s :-
Can one person really make a difference by changing just one thing?
What if a thousand people were to change just one thing in their life today - would that be a MilliJOT?
So what if a thousand people each changed ten things, that could be a MegaJOT?
What things should you consider?
Firstly have a look on the e-JOTtings page to see if there are any actions listed there that you feel you can take.
Have a look on my links page and check out some of the sites that go into greater detail about issues, like energy, poverty, climate change, consumer affairs, protecting endangered species and so on.
Will you change one JOT ?
I used iGoogles carbon footprint calculator and worked out what my footprint is and I now have firm plans in train to reduce that by a further .06 tonnes.
Apart from benefiting the planet, I am also going to be saving a bit of cash too, when I achieve my power saving target.
Whatever you decide, please tell me the result and send an e-JOT
I’ll paste the worthwhile ones up on our e-JOTtings page.
